We are very pleased to announce this year’s three 4 Ball Championships will again be designated as a Golf Fore the Cure “Provincial Event”! GFTC is an RCGA program designed to grow women’s participation in golf and through a unique partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society, raise money to support the fight against breast cancer.

A small portion of your entry fee will go to the Canadian Cancer Society and then be redirected back to Alberta. Just by playing you are making a contribution! In addition, you are asked to consider getting further donations from friends, family or businesses.

Online Fundraising Site
http://convio.cancer.ca/site/TR?fr_id=4360&pg=entry

The above link will connect you to the online fundraising site provided by the Canadian Cancer Society. Online pledging makes it easier than ever for you & your participants to ask friends and relatives all over the world for pledges! Electronic tax receipts will be issued by the Canadian Cancer Society for all donations over $10 and will be issued within three business days via email.

Please see the instructions below & pass this along to your participants:

How to register

In order to register yourself for online pledging, please click the above link. This will bring up the “Event Home Page” and you will see the following four options:
-Pledge a participant
-Register for an event
-Use our online fundraising tools
-Breast Cancer

To register yourself for online fundraising, please select the option “Use our online fundraising tools”. At the bottom of the page that appears next, please click on “Start fundraising now!”. This will then lead you through the necessary steps to set up your own online pledging account.

How to direct others to make pledges

In order to direct others to make pledges for you online – please direct them to the same link included above. They should select the option “Pledge a participant”, enter the name of the individual they wish to make a donation for and follow the provided steps.

Additionally, after registering you will be able to send e-mail invitations through this tool to ask people to join your team and/or pledge you. A link to your personal fundraising page will automatically be included at the bottom of your invitation.

All of the donations must be received by August 1st. Please note that this deadline is far in advance of the actual tournament dates!

From across Canada, the provincial event that raises the most money will be able to send a foursome, all expenses paid, to the Golf Fore the Cure National Event. Wouldn’t it be sweet if Alberta could send a team? How will such a team be chosen? For every $250 raised, the 2-man team will get a ballot which will be entered into a draw. More money? More ballots! More chances!

Let’s go Alberta!
