About All Weather Windows

Over a quarter century of commitment to excellence

In 1978 Harry Buhler, Gord Wiebe and Henry Banman followed their dream and started their own window and door manufacturing company, All Weather Windows. From a humble 10,000 square foot manufacturing facility in northwest Edmonton, the trio and their nine employees achieved first year revenues of $1.8 million. Within two years All Weather Windows outgrew its location and moved to a new 35,000 square foot facility giving the company room to grow.

The company achieved tremendous success in expanding into new markets and made great inroads with building supply dealers and contractors. All Weather Windows opened its first branch office in Winnipeg in 1982 followed by a branch in Saskatoon two years later. By 1985, the company had 50 employees and needed a new head office building. A Calgary branch was added in 1988 and All Weather Windows revenue increased by nearly 10-fold over its first year of operation.

In 1992 company founder Harry Buhler became All Weather Windows Chief Executive Officer and Gord Wiebe became President. New partners were added to the company in 1995 to enhance and strengthen the management team Robert Gilles, Vice President, Manufacturing; Roger Hutlet, Vice President Finance; and Bill Scott, Vice President, Sales and Marketing.

In 2005, President and CEO Gord Wiebe handed the General Manager duties to Richard Scott, who was added as a partner later that year. Richard Scott originally joined All Weather Windows in July 2004 as the Vice President of Plant Operations.

To accommodate All Weather Windows dynamic growth a new 238,000 square foot design-built facility was constructed and opened in January 1998. This state-of-the-art facility, which is located in west Edmonton, enabled the company to expand its product line and meet the continuing growth in sales. In 2000 new branches were established in Toronto and Regina. The company's Kelowna branch opened in 2003. Red Deer and Vancouver joined a growing list of branch locations in 2004.

A key to All Weather Windows success is the company's customized Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system that directly links customers, salespeople, sales desk and the manufacturing process. This streamlined product ordering system has enabled All Weather Windows to greatly accelerate its manufacturing process and electronically schedule product delivery using the company's own truck fleet. The ERP system ensures All Weather Windows quality products are delivered on time and the shipment is complete.

All Weather Windows celebrated its 25th anniversary on June 5, 2003. This accomplishment could not have been achieved without the loyalty, dedication and hard work of All Weather Windows staff and the trust customers place in the company's products.

In September 2006, All Weather Windows opened their second manufacturing facility in Canada located in Mississauga, Ontario. This 100,000 square foot facility will allow for orders to be filled even more efficiently and will also provide more space for research and education projects that are always in the works.

All Weather Windows is dedicated to designing and manufacturing Canada's widest selection of quality windows and doors. It is the passion for the industry, combined with All Weather Windows commitment to customers that enables the company to continue to grow and prosper. As one of Canada's largest privately held window companies, All Weather Windows products are truly all about beauty and innovation.
