We are very pleased to announce this year’s three 4 Ball Championships have been designated as a Golf Fore the Cure “Provincial Event”! GFTC is an RCGA Women’s Division program designed to grow women’s participation in golf and through a unique partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society, raise money to support the fight against breast cancer.
A small portion of your entry fee will go to the Canadian Cancer Society and then be redirected back to Alberta. Just by playing you are making a contribution! In addition, you are asked to consider getting further donations from friends, family or businesses.
All transactions will take place through the website. To view details and instructions on how to use the online pledging tool, please log on to www.rcgagolfforethecure.ca and click on “Fundraising”. You may then sign up as a participant of a registered Golf Fore the Cure site and let your friends and family know how to donate on your behalf!
All of the donations must be received by August 1st. Please note that this deadline is far in advance of the actual tournament dates!
From across Canada, the provincial event that raises the most money will be able to send a foursome, all expenses paid, to the Golf Fore the Cure National Event. Wouldn’t it be sweet if Alberta could send a team? How will such a team be chosen? For every $250 raised, the 2-man team will get a ballot which will be entered into a draw. More money? More ballots! More chances!
Let’s go Alberta!
This year’s National Event will take place September 15, 2008, at the Ladies’ Golf Club of Toronto in Thornhill, Ontario.
