1. Play will be governed by the 2004 edition of the Rules of Golf as issued by the RCGA, the Standard Local Rules sheet supplied to competitors by Alberta Golf, and as modified by this Supplementary Local Rules sheet. 2. Play will be from the Alberta Golf tee markers. 3. Format – 36 holes Stroke Play. At the conclusion of 36 holes, any ties for First Place overall and/or Low Amateur will be broken by Sudden Victory Playoff, commencing on Hole #10, then proceeding to Hole #18, and repeating that sequence until a Champion is determined. Procedures for playoffs involving various combinations of professionals and amateurs will be posted in a Notice To Competitors that will be available at the tournament. 4. All competitors must complete 18 holes for the tournament to be considered official. 5. The sandy area to the right of Holes #3 and #5 is to be considered a waste area. Loose impediments may be removed, and your club may be grounded prior to playing the shot. Please be considerate of all competitors by smoothing footprints upon exiting this area. 6. The rock boulders that border the lateral water hazards are Immovable Obstructions in the lateral water hazard. Relief is ONLY granted if the ball is NOT in the lateral water hazard. 7. On Hole #12, the entire sandy area along the left and front of the green is to be played as a Sand Bunker. 8. If a competitor’s ball comes to rest in the seam between strips of newly laid sod through the green that has not been marked as Ground Under Repair, the competitor may drop the ball at the nearest point of relief, not nearer the hole. This relief applies to the ball position and not stance. 9. The green that is played on holes 2 & 5 is a double green. If your ball is on the wrong green defined by the line in green paint, you must take relief under Rule 25-3 and drop the ball within one club length and not nearer the hole at the nearest point of relief off the green. The nearest point of relief must not be in a hazard or on the putting green. You may clean the ball. 10. Alberta Golf Rules Officials will be on the golf course to assist competitors with Rulings and to monitor pace of play. However, if a competitor requires a ruling and no official is readily available, the competitor may invoke Rule 3-3. There is a new change to the 2004 Rules of Golf with respect to 3-3. If a competitor scores the same with both balls, they must report to the Committee for a ruling or be subject to Disqualification. 11. The pace of play is 4 ½ hours.
